Sottimano is one of the most respected family producers in the Langhe, led by Rino Sottimano and his children Andrea, Cinzia and Rossana at their estate in Neive, Barbaresco. In addition to their renowned Barbaresco wines, Sottimano also vinifies the Maté Brachetto: a lightly sparkling sweet red wine made from 100% Brachetto d'Acqui grapes from organically farmed plots. Low alcohol content, lightly sparkling, to be drunk chilled — the perfect end to a meal or as an aperitif.
Description: Vibrant ruby red with persistent bubbles. Aromatic and inviting, with aromas of fresh strawberry, raspberry, roses and a soft muscat note. Lightly sweet, fresh and elegant on the palate, with a long fruity finish.
Pairs well with: Strawberries with whipped cream, panna cotta, light chocolate desserts, fresh fruits or solo as an aperitif.
Fun fact: Brachetto d'Acqui was once the favourite wine of Julius Caesar, who had it served to his army officers as a symbol of celebration and victory. 2000-year-old proof of good taste.
