The global demand for Schäfer-Fröhlich wines is growing steadily, as is their quality. Each new year seems to mark a new milestone for what Tim Fröhlich is capable of. The wines are exceptionally beautiful, perfectly balanced, and have fantastic fruit. Schäfer-Fröhlich's success is significant. For example, his dry Riesling and Spätlese Riesling were both declared the best in Germany in the 'Königsdisziplinen des deutschen Rieslings', and in the Gault Millau 2013, his Spätleses ranked 1st and 4th.
Description: Pencil shavings and somewhat earthy with fruit like cranberry, but also smooth and fresh.
Pairs well with: Lighter meat dishes, pasta, fish.
Fun fact: Matured in new and used Burgundy barrels. 14 to 15 months on the lees and then left until just before bottling. Settled in a stainless steel tank and then bottled.
