Tim Röttgerging is the great promise. Besides his job as cellar master of the famous Heymann-Löwenstein, Tim also manages a tight hectare of family vineyards in the Terrassenmosel, including in the Grosse Lagen Röttgen and Roth Lay. His first harvest was 2020 and 2023 is now on the market (while neighbours are already selling 2024). Tim doesn't like to release his wines too young; he believes they need at least six months in the bottle. In the vineyard, the young (32 years old) Tim works almost rigidly. Even his employer Reinhard is impressed. Only the best fruit, ripe without botrytis, goes into the cellar. Not as ripe as at HL; Tim prefers his own wines to be a bit leaner. And dry, bone dry, moreover. Through deliberate oxidation, pressing, and wood aging, the cellar also brings out the terroir more than the already strong primary Riesling character. The wines are crystal clear, precise, and ripe. In addition to Riesling, there is also delicious Spätburgunder, a rare ripe red from the Mosel without the green harshness. Confident wines with class and potential. Röttgerding has gained a proud importer.

Description: Ripe citrus, peach, stone, mineral, lively, long finish, nutty, depth.

Pairs well with: Green vegetables with a fresh vinaigrette, light Asian dishes, sushi.
