The founder of modern-day Riecine is John Dunkley, an English gentleman who, based on the Sangiovese grape, became one of the most admired modern producers. Together with his wife Palmina Abbagnano, John bought the original 1.5 hectares of land from the neighbouring monastery Badia a Coltibuono in 1971. Together, they began renovating the old stone villa, and then revitalising the old plants and planting new vines. The first vintage of Chianti Classico, 1973, was launched in 1975.

Description: Hazelnut, vanilla, baked apples, honey, caramel, orange

Pairs well with: Cheese, chocolate, cake-like desserts.

Fun fact: Since 2011, Riecine has been a family business and is run by Lana Frank. The family is strongly committed to upholding Riecine's philosophy and providing everything necessary for the Riecine team to produce great wines from the terroir, focusing on quality aspects.
