The founder of modern Riecine is John Dunkley, an English gentleman, who, based on the Sangiovese grape, is one of the most admired modern producers. Together with his wife Palmina Abbagnano, John bought the original 1.5 hectares of land from the neighbouring monastery Badia a Coltibuono in 1971. Together they began renovating the old stone villa, then reviving the old plants and planting new vines. The first vintage of Chianti Classico, 1973, was released in 1975.

Description: Generous, elegant, round tannins, rose, eucalyptus, medium full-bodied.

Pairs well with: Grilled red meat, cheese, roasted vegetables.

Fun fact: Riecine is located in the heart of Tuscany, 60 km southeast of Florence, 35 km northeast of Siena, in the village of Gaiole in Chianti. Riecine's vineyards are among the best in Chianti.
