Mr. Marinot was an 'ancien brande vignier'; in his younger years, he traveled through the Côte Chalonnaise with his 'alambic' to distill marc de Bourgogne for winemakers. In doing so, he knew the region like no other and built relationships for his later career as a merchant. His son Jacques is now following in his footsteps. In the Burgundy region from Mercurey to Santenay, he buys wine from predominantly small farmers, made from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes, which he then blends. Characteristic of his selection of wines is a fruity and fresh character in an accessible style. They are smooth wines with purity and a very good price/quality ratio.
Description: Accessible, soft, fresh, red fruit, and juicy.
Goes well with: Good with aperitifs, lighter appetizers, and snacks.
Fun fact: The grapes come from different vintages, which is why there is no vintage year on the bottle, but NV, which stands for Non Vintage.
