Mr. Marinot was an 'ancien brande vignier'; in his younger years, he travelled with his 'alambic' through the Côte Chalonnais to distil marc de Bourgogne for winegrowers. In doing so, he got to know the region like no other and built the relationships for his later career as a merchant. His son Jacques is now following in his footsteps. In the Burgundy region from Mercurey to Santenay, he buys wine from predominantly small farmers, made from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes, which he then blends. Characteristic of his selection of wines is a fruity and fresh character in an approachable style. They are smooth wines with purity and excellent value for money.
