Jean-Charles Fournet invests everything he earns as a radiologist at the hospital into his chateau just outside Condrieu. As a wine lover, he regularly hosts top winemakers like Vernay, Chave, and Gangloff, who advised him to make the most of his terroir. With the same passionate surgical precision, some might call it neurotic, he now cultivates 7 hectares of Syrah, Viognier, and Roussanne. Aided by the renowned Claude and Lydia Bourguignon, he produces brilliant, clear, pure, elegant, complex wines. Enthusiastically organic. Extremely high concentration with minimal yields.

Description: Even in the warm 2022 vintage, harvested end of September, 50% whole bunch pressing, 18 months aging in older 500-liter barrels. Beautiful, airy, refined, elegant, complex Syrah from 400m altitude on a Côte Brune mica-schist terroir. A very serious red.

Pairs well with: Tagine with lamb and curry, pan-fried sea bass with pasta in saffron-lobster sauce, roasted bell peppers filled with ricotta and salted lemon.

Fun fact: Côte Levant is one of the highest Syrah vineyards in the Rhône. The rootstocks are the very high-quality Riparia rootstocks, which were planted as rootstock for three years before being grafted.
