Elisabetta Foradori, the 'grand dame' of Italian 'vino naturali', has elevated her family winery in the Italian Dolomites to great heights. She and her late husband, Rainer Zierock, 'saved' the red Teroldego grape from extinction. In her Granato vineyard, we can still find ancient clones of this exciting red grape. Around 2013, her sons Theo and Emilio joined the company, and in 2018, she stepped back, allowing the new generation to take the reins. From the 2016 harvest, you can taste Emilio's influence as a winemaker.
Description: Smoky, a hint of reduction, peach, ginger, wood, verbena, citrus, soft ripe, airy.
Pairs well with: Smoked mackerel, pork belly, chicken, fennel salad, lemon risotto, Taleggio cheese.
Fun fact: Manzoni Bianco is a cross between Riesling and Pinot Bianco.
