The estate, which in 1800 stretched between Castiglione Falletto and Monforte, was owned in 1800 by Spirito Zocca, a historic producer and exporter of Barolo in Argentina. It was acquired in the early 1950s by Guido Fogliati, who continued his own production. After his death, the vineyards were still cultivated, but wine production ceased and the grapes were sold to famous Barolo producers.
Description: Accessible, aged 9 months in wood, full-bodied, black cherries and black pepper.
Pairs well with: BBQ meat dishes.
Fun fact: In 2016, the 3rd generation, Guido and Annalisa, took over the estate, which is now being brought back to life through a sophisticated renovation of the properties and a switch to organic viticulture.
