The estate, which stretched between Castiglione Falletto and Monforte in the 1800s, was owned by Spirito Zocca, a historic producer and exporter of Barolo to Argentina. It was acquired in the early 1950s by Guido Fogliati, who continued his own production. After his death, the vineyards were still cultivated, but wine production ceased and the grapes were sold to famous Barolo producers.

Description: Roses, tobacco, red berries, tar, savory long finish and earthy.

Pairs well with: Game, mushrooms, aged cheeses, stew.

Fun fact: Fogliati's most traditional expression of Barolo, obtained from vineyards located on the border between Monforte and Castiglione Falletto, a blend of two excellent Crus, Bussia and Pugnane.
