What makes Envínate unique is that they are not limited to one region. They work in four different regions — Ribeira Sacra, Canary Islands (Tenerife), Extremadura, and Almansa — all places where old vineyards are located on sometimes almost forgotten terroirs. Their mission: to revive forgotten or underestimated grapes, high-altitude plots, and pure, terroir-driven viticulture. Envínate makes their wines without tricks: manual harvesting, spontaneous fermentation, minimal or no filtering, and very little sulfite. They opt for indigenous yeasts, sometimes whole bunch fermentation, and often work with concrete or old wood to avoid masking the character of the grape and the soil. The philosophy is always the same, whether they work on the mainland or on an island: wines that speak directly, with tension, purity, and liveliness.
Delicious with: Cod with tomato-olive sauce, grilled octopus, Iberico or eggplant.
Fun fact: Envínate is one of Spain's most innovative and influential wine projects, founded by four friends: Alfonso Torrente, Laura Ramos, José Ángel Martínez, and Roberto Santana. They met at the wine university in Alicante and founded their joint project in 2005, with a name that literally means "wine yourself in": Envínate.
