El Mas de L'A is the project of Alfredo Arribas in the DOQ Priorat, located on an old estate (mas) near El Lloar. The name refers to the letter A - for Alfredo, for amphora, for artisan. It is a refined, textured white Grenache with ripe white fruit (peach, apricot, lemon), mineral lustre, and subtle spicy, smoky notes from oak ageing. The wine has a lively acidity, a soft, silky texture and a citrusy, creamy finish with deep mineral bite
Description: Golden orange with aromas of mango, apricot, pineapple, ginger and a cool undertone of crushed stone. Broad and lush on the palate, with soft tannins, a fresh acidity and a long, complex finish.
Delicious with: Grilled or steamed white fish, cod, risotto with fish, roasted pork, soft cheeses such as brie or camembert.
Fun fact: Quars is the Catalan word for quartz; the mineral rock that dominates the soils of the high Montsant mountain plain and gives the wine its characteristic freshness and minerality.
