Dominus Estate by renowned winemaker and CEO Christian Moueix (Pétrus, Trotanoy, etc.) is part of the historic Napanook monument and is believed to be one of the first vineyards planted in Napa Valley, California (in 1836). It was acquired in 1946 by legendary winemaker and visionary John Daniels and passed on to his daughters in 1970. In 1982, they partnered with Christian Moueix to create Dominus Estate. The wines, especially those of the last 25 years, taste like a serious Bordeaux Grand Cru, but also possess the ripe fruit characteristics of Napa Valley. To be more specific: a Napa terroir, but with a Bordeaux spirit.

Description: Blackberries, dark cherries, pipe tobacco, and hints of cedar. The finish is quite long and smooth.

Pairs well with: Ribeye, Côte de Boeuf, both excellent from the BBQ.

Fun fact: Ulysses is a Latin name for boys. The meaning is 'world traveler/explorer.'
