Pierre-Marie Chermette (1960), son of winemaker Maurice Chermette and winemaker's daughter Eugénie Vissoux, took over his parents' estate at the age of 22, graduated in oenology (Dijon) not much later, and married Martine Chanu, who had just finished her studies in commercial English. In 1986, they made a name for themselves with their unchaptalized beaujolais primeur, the Cuvée Vieilles Vignes. The press and all of Paris, particularly the wine bars there, embraced this new (in fact old, forgotten!) perspective on Beaujolais.

Description: Soft mousse, elegant, peach, brioche, and beautifully full-bodied.

Pairs well with: Aperitif with light snacks.

Fun fact: From 1994, the estate expanded, first with some plots of Fleurie, then Moulin-à-Vent, and later Brouilly. Since 2005, a fresh, eminently drinkable Beaujolais Blanc has also been produced.
