Domaine Jamet is a legendary small domain in Côte-Rôtie, run by brothers Jean-Paul and Jean-Luc Jamet. With only 6 hectares in Côte-Rôtie and a small production outside the appellation, their wines are scarce and coveted worldwide. The Côtes du Rhône Blanc is made from Viognier, Clairette, and Bourbelenc grapes from just outside the official Côte-Rôtie boundaries — fermented in old barriques for a dry, intense white Rhône with the domain's characteristic finesse.
Description: Golden yellow and deep, with aromas of apricot, white flowers, pear, ginger, and a light minerality. Full-bodied and opulent on the palate, with dry acidity, a rich texture, and a long, elegant finish.
Pairs well with: Grilled sea bass or other richer seafood, lobster, creamy seafood dishes, or rich chicken.
Fun fact: The Jamets are so iconic in Côte-Rôtie that their waiting list for the red Côte-Rôtie has been completely closed for years. Anyone who manages to acquire a bottle of Jamet Blanc is drinking the philosophy of a top Syrah domain in a totally different glass.
