Domaine Henri Germain is a classic Meursault estate run by Jean-François Germain, with 8 hectares spread across Meursault, Chassagne-Montrachet, and Monthélie. The style is traditional and restrained: organically grown, hand-picked, aged in a combination of old and new wood. The Bourgogne Aligoté 2024 is made from Aligoté from young vines on calcareous soils, fermented in demi-muid and aged on the lees for added texture.
Description: Pale gold with aromas of lemon, green apple, white flowers and a light minerality. Fresh and vibrant on the palate with a sharp, energetic acidity and a clean, long-lasting finish.
Pairs well with: Oysters, prawns, light fish dishes, goat cheese or as an aperitif.
Fun fact: Aligoté is Burgundy's 'other' white grape — always in the shadow of Chardonnay, but just as expressive on the right soils. Henri Germain makes one of the most refined examples of it.
