Domaine Guiberteau is a family winery that dates back to 1934 and is currently run by Romain Guiberteau, who belongs to the fourth generation of the family and spearheaded the transition to organic farming, partly on the advice of the Foucault brothers of Clos Rougeard. The domain consists of 17 hectares of vineyards with vines ranging from 5 to 80 years old, where only the Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc varieties are cultivated.
Description: Lots of red and black fruit—raspberry, cherry, blackcurrant—floral notes like violets, spicy pepper, and a hint of green bell pepper. Beautiful acidity, fresh, a little rustic, and full of energy.
Pairs well with: Game dishes, poultry, and grilled vegetables.
Fun fact: Although the wine can be enjoyed young, it can certainly also age for several years, becoming more complex and nuanced.
