Domaine Fournier Père et Fils is a family estate in Saint-Vérain in the Nièvre, which has been making wine for over four generations near the Sancerre region. Laurent Fournier currently manages the 55-hectare estate. The Bourgogne Côte d'Or Rouge is a Pinot Noir from carefully selected plots on calcareous soils, aged in a combination of old barriques for an accessible, fruit-driven, good quality Burgundy.

Description: Vibrant ruby red with aromas of cherry, raspberry, strawberries, and a soft herbal undertone. Juicy and direct on the palate, with fine tannins and a fresh, cheerful finish.

Pairs well with: Poultry, red meat dishes, light cheeses, or a charcuterie picnic.

Fun fact: The Bourgogne Côte d'Or AOC is a relatively new appellation (2017), an upgrade of the old Bourgogne appellation for plots actually located on the Côte d'Or — a recognition of the extra quality that terroir adds.
