Domaine Felettig is a highly acclaimed family business in Chambolle-Musigny, led by brother and sister Gilbert and Christine Felettig. Established by their father Henri in 1974, it is organically farmed, spanning 13 hectares, including Chambolle premier crus and Echézeaux. The Hautes Côtes de Nuits Rouge is 100% Pinot Noir from a plot in Villers-la-Faye, with only 1,200 bottles produced annually. Fermented with indigenous yeast, 5–7 days cold maceration, three weeks cuvaison, aged in a combination of old wood and stainless steel.
Description: Bright ruby red with aromas of cherry, spices, rose petals, and a hint of smoke. Medium-bodied on the palate, juicy and energetic, with fine tannins and a long, mineral finish.
Pairs well with: Mushroom pasta, coq au vin, lightly grilled poultry or Brie de Meaux.
Fun fact: For years, Domaine Felettig sold its best grapes to top négociants like Dominique Laurent and Dujac — they knew early on what the rest are now discovering: that this is one of the most underrated domains of the Côte de Nuits.
