This 17th-century winery is managed by Etienne and Alix de Montille. The duo produces wines from just over 20 different appellations in Burgundy. While their father was considered one of the very best Pinot Noir producers on the planet in the 80s and 90s, brother and sister Montille are taking a much broader approach. For example, Château de Puligny-Montrachet was purchased with an incredibly strong portfolio of vineyards (especially Chardonnay), and Alix started her own business (Maison Montille).
Description: Very refined, juicy red fruit, cherry, raspberry, a touch of earthiness and rusticity, ripe tannins
Fun fact: This Pinot Noir comes from various vineyards, totaling 3.28 ha. Part of it is from Volnay 'Les Longbois' and the rest from different vineyards in Puligny Montrachet. Fermented and aged in barriques, 5% new oak. 2022 was a warm year, but it's hardly noticeable.
