The fame of the jovial, talkative but oh-so-serious and ambitious family Bernard Fleuriet et fils in rural Menetou-Ratel, 8km from Sancerre, is growing rapidly. The vineyards (35 ha) have been organic since 2015, and biodynamically (DEMETER) certified from the 2021 harvest. The youngest, Mathieu (1982), is the winemaker and has an impressive winery and cellar at his disposal with small wooden barrels, truncated foudres, concrete vats, and amphorae.
Description: White fruit and flint, saline, rounded mineral, ripe, and a soft acidity palette.
Pairs well with: Shellfish and crustaceans, raw fish.
Fun fact: Indigenous yeasts, 2/3 maturation in concrete and 1/3 in used wooden barrels.
