The fame of the jovial, talkative, but oh so serious and ambitious Bernard Fleuriet et fils family in the rural village of Menetou-Ratel, 8km from Sancerre, is growing rapidly. The vineyards (35 ha) have been organic since 2015, and biodynamic (DEMETER) certified from the 2021 harvest onwards. The youngest son, Mathieu (born 1982), is the winemaker, and he has an impressive winery and cellar at his disposal, complete with small wooden barrels, truncated vats, concrete tanks, and amphorae.
Description: Floral, exotic, and fully elegant, with soft chalk and gentle acidity.
Pairs well with: Shellfish and crustaceans, such as pan-fried scallops and langoustines. Or grilled octopus.
Fun fact: The grapes come from a plot where, according to legend, witches danced at night.
