The fame of the jovial, talkative, yet so serious and ambitious Bernard Fleuriet et fils family in the rural Menetou-Ratel, 8km from Sancerre, is growing rapidly. The vineyards (35 ha) have been organic since 2015, and biodynamic (DEMETER) certified from the 2021 harvest. The youngest son, Mathieu (born 1982), is the winemaker, and he has an impressive winery and cellar at his disposal, complete with small wooden barrels, truncated foudres, cement tanks, and amphorae.
Description: Delicate and elegant character, beautiful balance between fresh acidity and soft tannins, plenty of red fruit, with a hint of mineral notes.
Pairs well with: Poultry, pork, and soft cheeses.
Fun fact: Although the wine can be enjoyed young, it can certainly age for several years, becoming more complex and nuanced with time.
