The family estate has been located in the beautiful village of Vergisson, Saône-et-Loire (Mâcon) since 1905. The Barraud family owns vineyards in three appellations: Mâcon-Villages, Saint-Véran, and Pouilly-Fuissé. They work organically, and all grapes are harvested by hand. The estate contaminates its soil minimally, if at all, because the vines must draw nourishment from the rocky soil, which creates a clearer typification of the individual character of the vineyard.
Description: Enticing aromas of ripe citrus, yellow apple, pear, honey, flowers, minerals, and oak. Rich, juicy, round, full-bodied, and soft on the palate with a long finish.
Pairs well with: Baked fish, grilled chicken, shellfish, and crustaceans.
Fun fact: After fermentation with native yeasts, the wine matures for one-third in oak, one-third in demi-muids, and one-third in stainless steel tanks.
