Patrick gained wine experience in London, including as a sommelier at Claridge's, and then spent 5 years in wine shops. After that, he returned to his old hometown of Reims to become an export manager at Gosset. He did that for 10 years until 2010. Then, together with his wife Sophie, he started a company exporting French wine. In 2015, while looking for new domains to export, they were offered 5 ha of vineyard in the Château-Chalon appellation. Domaine des Carlines was born.
Description: Intense, smoky, fresh notes of citrus with fullness, slightly earthy with depth and power, saline.
Pairs well with: Lobster, oily fish, BBQ dishes.
Fun fact: The vineyards are 30-45 years old, all on the Château-Chalon plateau at an altitude of 520 metres.
