Cisteller 'Xarel.lo 2023'

Celler Cisteller, currently the most talked about project in the Penedès, has captured the attention of sommeliers from all over the world. According to Wine-Searcher, however, their wines have not yet debuted in the UK or the US, suggesting they are a relatively undiscovered gem. Jessica Madigan and Sergi Canals met in 2015 while studying viticulture and oenology at the University of California, Davis. Over the years, they traveled the world and participated in over 15 vintages in regions such as Burgundy, Central Otago, the Mosel, Rioja Alavesa, and Priorat. These experiences laid the foundation for Cisteller, which officially began in 2019 with the construction of a family winery.

Description: Lemon panna cotta, Mediterranean field herbs, wet stone, toast, and sesame.

Pairs well with: Seafood paella, Carbonara, poultry.

Fun fact: Inspired by a family photo (cisteller is Catalan for basket weaver, Canals' grandparents' profession), the duo created a brand that pays homage to their heritage.
