Although there is no official classification for Pomerol, Château Trotanoy is historically considered one of its top estates. The soil is a combination of clay and red gravel, with an iron-rich subsoil, and has proven to be excellent for viticulture. In 1953, Château Trotanoy was purchased by Jean-Pierre Moueix and it was one of the few estates to survive the severe frost of 1956. As such, the vineyard has a large number of relatively old vines. The vineyard spans 7.20 hectares, located on the western side of the "plateau," and the majority of the vineyard is planted with Merlot (90%) and the remainder with Cabernet Franc (10%).

Description: Blueberries, raspberry, cocoa, and nougat. The wine has supple tannins and a long finish.

Pairs well with: Poultry, red meat, cheese.

Fun fact: With 12 hectares of vineyard and vines with an average age of 35 years, 42,000 bottles are produced annually.
