Château Laroque is a Bordeaux wine producer in Saint-Émilion, classified as a Grand Cru Classé with a long history. It produces a Merlot-dominant Bordeaux blend, but is perhaps best known for its impressive 18th-century château. On this elevated limestone plateau stands the stately Château Laroque of the Beaumartin Family. This is the largest wine estate in Saint-Emilion, covering 61 hectares, divided into various 'climats' (sub-vineyards). The castle's total vineyard area covers no less than 61 hectares (151 acres), making it one of the largest estates in Saint-Émilion, but only 27 ha (67 acres) of the estate is reserved for this grand vin.

Description: Ripe cherries and strawberries, tea leaves, licorice, great generosity. Juicy berry flavors, soft tannins and uplifting acidity.

Pairs well with: Duck, hard aged cheeses, red meat.

Fun fact: The remaining fruit from the estate is used to produce wine under the Château Peymouton label. Here, the clay-limestone plateau is planted with 87% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Franc and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon.
