The oldest document found concerning the purchase of a vineyard in Castro Ventosa dates back to 1752. As with many winemakers in Spain, the grapes were always sold to the local cooperative. It is only since the early 1990s that the estate itself started making and bottling wines. The youngest generation, in particular, played a very significant role in this. The entire Pérez family works at the estate, but it is undoubtedly oenologist Raúl Pérez who has put this estate on the map.
Description: Juicy, accessible, light, round, young, red fruit and lively.
Delicious with: Cold meat dishes, or just as enjoyable on its own, it also works very well as an aperitif.
Fun fact: 'Joven' means 'young' and these wines are meant to be drunk young. The taste is therefore dominated by fruit notes. Wines with 'Joven' on the label have often not had oak aging.
