Cascina delle Rose is located in the Italian municipality of Barbaresco in Piedmont. This beautiful 3-hectare vineyard is run by Giovanna Rizzolio and Italo Sobrino and their sons, Riccardo and Davide. The family business has existed since 1948, but was not bottled and sold under the name Cascina delle Rose until Giovanna took over the estate in 1992. As the name suggests, roses are indeed common on the estate and in the vineyards.
Description: Juicy, spicy, fine tannins, wild flowers, fresh, light, good acidic structure.
Pairs well with: Versatile, especially with starters such as red meat, vitello tonnato, steak tartare.
Fun fact: This Dolcetto d'Alba is produced from the blending of two vineyards, one located in the village of Barbaresco and one in the village of Neive.
