The founders of An Approach to Relaxation are Carla and Richard Rza Betts, two wine lovers who found each other in the wine world. Richard was once a Master Sommelier, but in 2020 he voluntarily returned that title due to his dissatisfaction with the direction of the wine world he was active in. Together they settled in Australia's Barossa Valley, where they discovered an overgrown block of old, dry-farmed Grenache vines on the sandy soils of Vine Vale, planted between 1860 and 1880, and they pulled out all the stops to revive this almost forgotten vineyard. The result is the Sucette, a 100% Grenache from own-rooted vines that are now 80 to 85 years old.

Description: Dark fruit, fine tannins, strawberry, cranberry, white pepper, eucalyptus, earthy.

Pairs well with: Grilled lamb, game dishes, spicy sausage.

Fun fact: Sucette means "candy" in French, referring to the sweet, seductive side of this Grenache. The vineyard itself is not sprayed and barely cultivated; the owners prune once a year and harvest, otherwise the vineyard is left to its own devices.
