Alfredo Arribas 'Cuvée Carmen 2024'

Alfredo Arribas is originally an architect – he designed his own winery, Clos del Portal in Priorat, as a sculpture of Corten steel and natural stone. In addition to Priorat, he also works in the neighboring DO Montsant, where he has brought together old vineyards at altitudes of over 700 meters. The Cuvée Carmen is made from old Garnacha Blanca vines high in the mountains of Montsant. After a long two-month skin contact and aging in amphora, the result is an expressive orange wine with a unique texture and tropical depth. Organically and biodynamically grown.

Description: Aromatic and full-bodied, with aromas of mango, pineapple, apricot, and a cool mineral undertone of crushed stone. Round texture, soft tannins, and a fresh, long finish.

Pairs well with: Simple roasted chicken, oily fish such as mackerel or sardine, dishes with potatoes or rice, and strong cheeses.

Fun fact: Alfredo Arribas only decided to become a winemaker after traveling half the world as an architect – he designed his winery in Priorat himself, even before he decided to make wine there.
