The soil is a combination of clay and red gravel, with an iron-rich subsoil, and has proven to be excellent for viticulture. In 1953, Château Trotanoy was purchased by Jean-Pierre Moueix and it was one of the few estates to survive the severe frost of 1956. As such, the vineyard has a large number of relatively old vines. The vineyard spans 7.20 hectares, located on the western side of the \"plateau,\" and the majority of the vineyard is planted with Merlot (90%) and the remainder with Cabernet Franc (10%).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eDescription:\u003c\/strong\u003e Blueberries, raspberry, cocoa, and nougat.
